Bird clinches pole ahead of the second New York race

Sam Bird qualified on pole position at the second round of the New York E-Prix. This is the Brit’s first pole of the season.

The Jaguar driver had topped the overall qualifying, earning a spot in Super Pole, where he clinched pole position with a lap time of 1m 08.572s.

Both Jaguars qualified on the front row, as Mitch Evans finished in second position 0.090 seconds behind the Brit.

Yesterday’s poleman, Nick Cassidy, finished third with Pascal Wehrlein completing the second row in P4.

It was another good performance in qualifying for Dragon’s Sergio Sette Camara, as he qualified in fifth place. Andre Lotterer, who also made it to Super Pole, could not match the Brazilian’s pace and will start from P6.

The top 10 was completed by Antonio Felix da Costa, Alex Lynn, Alexander Sims, and Norman Nato.
