Vergne Fastest in Close Practice Session in London

Jean-Eric Vergne topped the timesheets for DS Techeetah in a close, opening free practice session in London.

The Frenchman, who lives in London, set a 1:21:650 to pip Envision Virgin Racing’s Robin Frijns by four-thousandths of a second.

The rest of the top-five, Jaguar’s Sam Bird, DS Techeetah’s Antonio Felix Da Costa, and Mitch Evans in the other Jaguar, were all within a tenth of a second from Vergne’s time.

Alex Lynn finished sixth overall after setting the quickest time at 235kW. He ended the session just ahead of Mercedes’ Stoffel Vandoorne and Porsche’s Pascal Wehrlein.

Nyck de Vries was ninth in the other Mercedes, and the top-10 was rounded out by Dragon’s Sergio Sette Camara.

To give some indication of how close the session was, everyone apart from Oliver Turvey was within a second of Vergne’s time on 250kw.
