Nissan drivers disqualified for energy overuse

Both Nissan e.dams drivers have been disqualified from the London E-Prix for running out of energy at the end of the race.

Sebadtien Buemi crossed the line fourth In Formula E’s first visit to the British capital since he won the title in Season 2. Team-mate Oliver Rowland took 10th.

But both drivers ran out of energy before the chequered flag and have been disqualified for energy overuse.

This means that Antonio Felix da Costa moves up to eighth in the standings whilst both Edoardo Mortara and Pascal Wehrlein move up into the points.

In a tweet following the race, the team said, “An unfortunate end to the day as both cars have been disqualified from the race due to energy overuse.

“Seb and Oli put in two fantastic drives today and we aim to come back stronger tomorrow.”
