Cassidy fastest in final practice session in Cape Town

Nick Cassidy set the pace in the final practice session before qualifying before the Cape Town E-Prix

The Envision Racing driver took the chequered flag at the session to set a time of 1m08.118s. It put him just ahead of Maserati’s Edoardo Mortara and Dan Ticktum for NIO 333.

Team-mate Sebastien Buemi had also been on a flying lap, but a late yellow flag forced Buemi to briefly slow and he didn’t improve his overall time.

A late improvement for Mitch Evans put him fourth quickest for Jaguar Racing ahead of his teammate Sam Bird, and Stoffel Vandoorne in the DS Penske.

Antonio Felix Da Costa was seventh fastest for Porsche despite stopping on track after the end of the session, with Maximillian Guenther in the other Maserati entry setting the eighth quickest lap.

The top ten was rounded out by Pascal Wehrlein in the other Porsche and Sascha Fenestraz in the Nissan.
