Andrea PerilliFrenchman Sylvain Filippi has been appointed as DS Virgin Racing’s Managing Director, as the British squad prepares ahead of the New York Season Finale, with their driver Sam Bird on the race to the Formula E title.
Filippi, who has been linked with the British outfit since its partnership with French deluxe car brand DS in 2015, had been appointed as the team’s Chief Operations Officer, following the departure of Alex Tai from DS Virgin Racing.
“I’m very grateful for this opportunity and thank the team’s board and shareholders for their support and trust in me”, commented Filippi.
“The current season may be drawing to a close, but we have a lot of exciting work ahead of us to prepare for Formula E’s important fifth season, and the whole team together with its partners and new majority shareholder Envision are very much looking forward to this”.
Formula E will be back in New York City this month, for its two final rounds. Last year, the Brooklyn street circuit saw DS Virgin Racing’s Sam Bird take the win in both rounds; and this year, the Brit arrives gets to New York with chances of winning the fully-electric championship.
