Bueno fastest in Jaguar qualifying

Caca Bueno will start the first of seven Jaguar I-PACE eTrophy races in Berlin from pole position after topping the times in qualifying.

The session was Bueno’s first qualifying session this season, as the Brazilian Stock Car racer was forced to miss the Diriyah rounds and qualifying was cancelled in Mexico.

Despite his lack of running so far this season, Bueno was quick to get on the pace and set a 1m25.506s lap in the first half of the session.

Team-mate and championship leader Sergio Jimenez was second quickest, but could only manage a lap 0.144s slower than Bueno’s.

Championship newcomer Nick Foster and Simon Evans make up the second row of the grid.

Guest driver Ollie Webb put in a strong performance to go fifth quickest overall, just half a second off the pace set by Bueno.

Fahad Algosaibi continued his championship challenge in the Pro-Am class. The Saudi Racing driver is second in the standings coming into the weekend but championship leader Yaqi Zhang is unable to attend the event.

Algosaibi qualified sixth overall and the fastest Pro-Am driver. He starts ahead of Pro drivers Alice Powell and Greg Segers.

Adalberto Baptista, Takuma Aoki, and Paul Spooner completed the order.
