Audi launches the e-tron FE05 and prepares to go racing

Reinging team champion Audi have launched today their Season 5 calendar. With Lucas di Grassi and Daniel Abt at the wheel of the Audi e-tron FE05, the German manufacturer hopes to repeat last season’s success.

There was no bigger contrast in Season 4 than Audi’s start and end of the season. Four non-point scoring races, were cut off by Daniel Abt’s win in Mexico City, and from then on, the team’s performance improved and became unstoppable.

In the last race of the season, Audi clinched the Teams’ Championship on their first campaign as a full-time manufacturer in the fully-electric championship. Season 4 saw them literally go from the bottom to the top of the standings, and for Season 5, the team wants to keep the winning streak going.

So for the 2018-19 season, the team has retained Daniel Abt and Lucas di Grassi as its drivers. The Abt-di Grassi lineup has become the longest standing one in the series, collecting several wins, podiums, and points. Allan McNish remains as Team Principal, hoping to take the German marque back to the top step of the podium.

The news surrounded Audi’s season 5 challenger. The machine was introduced by McNish on a video that the German marque posted on its social media platforms today, and that can be seen in the following link.

The Audi e-tron FE05 stands out for its green and red colours, in addition to the white sections that the car has at the front. The livery is similar to last year’s, but this time, the futuristic look of the Gen2 inspires movement and a flowing sensation.

Formula E’s fifth season will kick off on December 15th in Riyadh.
