Revised calendar issued for MotoE World Cup

A revised calendar has been issued for the FIM MotoE World Cup following a fire in the paddock during the pre-season test in Jerez.

The first race of the season will now take place at the Grand Prix Deutschland held at the Sachsenring over July 5-7.

There will still be six races on the calendar over four rounds while a pre-season test will take place in June although a date and location have yet to be announced.

It will then move on to the Red Bull Ring, Austria over August 9-11 for the second round of the championship.

Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli will host a double-header round as previously scheduled over the weekend of September 13-15 but will not be a season finale.

Instead, the season will end with another double-header at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Valencia on November 15-17.

Jerez was scheduled to host the opening round of the season in May but the fire, which destroyed all 18 bikes, meant this event could not go ahead.

The previously scheduled round at the Le Mans to support the French Grand Prix has also been cancelled following the fire.

The cause of the fire is still being investigated.
