Granado fastest on Friday at Jerez

2019 MotoE race winner Eric Granado topped the times in both free practice sessions ahead of the first round of the 2020 season at Jerez.

The Avintia Esponsorama Racing rider only managed two laps in the second free practice session, when high temperatures made it difficult for riders to improve on their FP1 times.

Despite this, he lowered the benchmark to 1m48.531s, 0.157s faster than anybody else would achieve.

Championship newcomer Doninique Aegerter was second fastest over the two sessions, but could only manage fifth fastest in FP2.

Niccolo Canepa took third overall, a further 0.072s back.

Only three other riders were able to improve on their FP1 times during the second practice session, including avier Simeon, who finished second in FP2 and fifth overall.

2019 champion Matteo Ferrari could only put himself sixth quickest, behind series debutant Jordi Torres.

Niki Tuuli took seventh, while Alex De Angelis, Mattia Casadei, and Mike Di Meglio rounded out the top 10.
