Casadei starts from pole position at Misano

Matteo Ferrari set the fastest time at the FIM Moto E World Cup’s third round at Misano, but due to a penalty he will start from P4, with Mattia Casadei starting tomorrow’s race from pole position.

Ferrari started the day off on the right foot, topping the standings in the third free practice session. Eric Granado came second, with Xavier Simeon completing the Top Three.

Dominique Aegerter, who had strongly dominated the previous race back in July, finished in tenth place in the overall standings.

In qualifying, it would be Ferrari again who would position himself on top of the timings, clinching the E-Pole by a lap time of 1:43.580 seconds. But due to a penalty he was given after a collision with Granado back in Andalucia, the Italian will start the race from the fourth spot in the grid.

Casadei, who finished the session in second place, will be tomorrow’s poleman. Simeon and Lukas Tulovic will complete the first row of the starting grid.

Championship leader Aegerter will start from fifth place, aiming to climb up positions during the race in order to gain important points to maintain his championship dominance.
