Pole position for Granado in MotoE season opener

Eric Granado set pole position for the opening MotoE race of the season at Jerez.

The Brazillian rider set a 1:47.778 to finish two tenths ahead of Lukas Tulovic, despite Granado losing time at the final corner.

16-year-old Fermin Aldeguer was third fastest on his series debut ahead of Dominique Aegerter, who lost time in the last half of the lap and Alessandro Zaccone.

Jordi Torres was sixth after a big moment at the Curva Dry Sack ahead of Mattia Casadei, Xavi Cardelus, Maria Herrera and Miquel Pons rounded out the top ten.

Hikari Okubo was 11th after a moment at the final turn ahead of Andrea Mantovani, who lost two tenths coming out of Curva Dry Sack, Corentin Perolari and Yonny Hernandez.

Jasper Iwema was 15th ahead of Kevin Zannoni and Andre Pires.

Matteo Ferrari, who had been fastest after his run, had his lap time deleted after exceeding track limits at Turn 4. He starts from the back of the grid.
